We love our new entrance mural. It will provide pleasure to all our whanau who come to see us. Danny Owen - You are magic! Looking forward to your return and the final master piece yet to come. Miharo!
This week we launched our new Kohanga Ora project supported by Te Putahitanga Whanau Ora Commission – A Nga Kete project led by our own Sheryl Henare! The project aims to strengthen nga Kohanga Reo, enhance leadership and develop strong self management, grow Whanau knowledge, skills, capabilities and positive experiences and achieve supported goals and aspirations!
Movember is here and four of our brave men are tackling our very own mo challenge! Kane Johnson, Donald Wright, Stephen Thompson and Peter Baker will vie for the title of Nga Kete’s best mo! At the end of the month our staff will donate a gold coin to vote for their favourite and all proceeds will be donated to He Puna Waiora for a new piece of equipment! We’ve also invited all enrolled male patients for a free health check during the month! Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches to raise awareness of men’s health.
Congratulations to Junaya Leask who won our Toi Toi Maori Art & Gift Shop Facebook competition! Junaya is stoked with her prize and says

What a way to brighten up the AOD area here at Nga Kete! And It’s all thanks to the incredible work of Danny Owen, who created this masterpiece here yesterday in just four short hours! We’re blown away by how beautiful this piece is! And, it’s just the first of more to come!!
