The event is a whanau focused kapa haka event celebrating our marae, iwi, Maori organizations, agencies, and wider communities.
This year’s theme is Manaaki Tangata – a call to action to strengthen a strong cultural identity in the prevention of suicide. A representative of each participating kapa or group will be invited to sign a community accord, which asks that we collectively participate in a Maori community information network as a positive step in keeping our whanau safe from suicide.
Te Whare Tu, Te Whare Ora 2016 will be held at Hansen Hall, Southern Institute of Technology, on August 12 from 5.30pm.
For more information call (03) 214 5260 and ask for Daniel or Leoma.
