Nga Kete Matauranga Pounamu Charitable Trust is again organizing Re-O, and with scorpions on the menu, an opportunity to dip your face in some jello and whip up a raw-vegan baking delight, it’s shaping up to be like no other!
The three-day event will kick off Wednesday 10 July with a powhiri at 11.00am at Hansen Hall, Tay St Campus, followed by a market day and games such as guess how many in the jar, big jenga and balloon darts with a host of fabulous prizes up for grabs.
Organiser Mana Wright, of Nga Kete, said similar to Orientation Week at the beginning of the year, the event will celebrate local community and the student’s journey at SIT. Check the timetable attached for full details.
More than 20 stall holders will be on site for Market Day. All of which will be available for students to investigate and find any information that may help them during their studies at SIT.
Competitions, games and giveaways will be held Thursday and Friday from 12pm-1.00pm. There will be a Fear Factor Eating Competition, a raw-vegan baking competition, find the prize in the jello pool, an international quiz competition and more!
A chill-out zone with board games will be available each day, as well as pancakes by Cornerstone and a student BBQ. There will also be a free student lunch on Friday, and later a Matariki Night Food Market from 5pm-8pm celebrating Maori New Year and international cuisine including Cuban, Indian, Colombian, and Maori delicacies.
