![]() NKMPT staff had the pleasure of Brett Comtpon and Oliver Mortensen present on Youth Justice Southland working with Maori 2012 - 2013. Brett spoke about National averages and trends in Maori counts in YJ(Youth Justice) and it is very pleasing to know that Southland is well below national averages in representation of Maori. Interestingly, the amount of young Maori in YJ, that dont have any Iwi affiliation identified is a staggering 45%. As Maori we know that having connection or a connection is really important and asks the question of us all - "how can we improve this?". Nga Kete acknowledged the work being done by YJ and how we link in with one another with clients and service delivery and look forward to working with more collaboration, with our friends at Child Youth and Family.
