Nga Kete supports this important research project Oranga Tū : A kaupapa Māori Prostate Cancer Project. The study is a kaupapa Māori co-produced project with Māori communities including Māori prostate cancer survivors, Māori health providers, specialists and researchers. Overall, the project aims to improve the whānau ora of tāne and their whānau after a diagnosis of prostate cancer. The study will investigate the perceptions of tāne and whānau of services that are available to support whānau ora. If you are a Māori man over 18 years old who has, or has had, prostate cancer and have utilised any services within the last 5 years, you and anyone else (whānau, carer, support person) you choose are invited to take part in an interview where you will be asked a range of standardised questions alongside open ended questions. personal information will remain anonymous and confidential. The study is expected to begin in October 2018 and will end 2021 and is being funded by Movember Foundation. For more information contact one of the researchers: |
